가정법 Zero/First/Second/Third Conditional

Type If-Clause Main-Clause Usage Example
Zero present simple present simple real condition + inevitable result, always true  
First present simple will + real/possible condition + probable result  
Second past simple would + unreal (present or future) condition+ imaginary result  
Third past perfect would have + expired unreal past condition + possible past result  
Mixed Past perfect would +    
  • 0) If I am late, my father takes me to school.
    If you press the button, the device turns on.
    If the sun sets, it becomes night.
    If it rains, the roads get slippery.
  • 1) If it rains, I will stay at home.
  • 2) If I won the lottery, I would buy a big yacht.
    If I were a bird, I would fly.
  • 3) If I had studied harder, I would have passed the exam.
  • Mixed) If I had bought the Apple stock, I would sell it now at a high price.
